Regional Day October 2018

We celebrated Merill Tanton's first Regional Day as Coordinator and what a cracking day we had!  Thanks to everybody for making it such a successful and enjoyable day. In the morning Margie Jenkins gave a talk entitled 'From There to Here in Stitch' and showed her quilts made around the world while accompanying her husband in his various postings abroad.

In the afternoon Sheena Norquay talked about 'Quilts and the Orkney Influence Part Two' accompanied by pieces of her quilts featuring free motion quilting which creates interesting surfaces with texture and movement.

We travelled many thousands of miles with these two speakers with no sign of jet lag from the members!

We also enjoyed seeing Show and Tell, showcasing the work of members from around the region - another exciting collection of quilts.

Here is a selection of some of the work we enjoyed during the day.
