Philippa Naylor

I consider myself to be very lucky and, as my husband often tells me, I am living the dream! Home is the historic market town of Beverley in East Yorkshire, the area where I grew up. However I have not always lived here and spent over ten years in Lancashire, and after that fifteen years in Saudi Arabia.
Peter, my husband, and I have two sons. Daniel (who is studying architecture) and Benjamin (who is studying illustration - and plans to be a starving artist). Peter works as a sculptor. See
Originally I trained as a clothing designer and worked in industry designing lingerie and then wedding and evening dresses. I began quilting in 1996 and really took to it. I was very fortunate to do well at this from the beginning and now have three quilts in the National Quilt Museum in Paducah, Kentucky, USA.
I teach quilting all the time and all over the place - in the UK and internationally. Recently I have begun teaching residential courses in East Yorkshire where I am able to offer what I hope is a special experience for my students. Another plus is that during these courses I get to sleep in my own bed.
I am in the process of writing my second book which should be available in early 2015.
When I'm not teaching I am sewing anything and everything, gardening or digging my allotment, cooking or cleaning out my hens (21 at the moment) or perhaps even doing some cleaning in my own house!
